Hello! My name is Irma Chavez. My pronouns are she and her. I am currently a graduate student at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA obtaining my Master's in Teaching General Science. I graduated from from the University of Houston with a BS in Kinesiology and a minor in Human Development in Family Studies.
Hola! Mi nombre es Irma Chavez. Mi pronombre es ella. Actualmente soy un estudiante de posgrado en Moravian College en Bethlehem, PA obteniendo mi Maestria en Ensenanza de Ciencias Generales. Me gradue de la Universidad de Houston con mi licenciatura en Kinesiologia y una especializacion en Desarrollo Humano en Estudios Familiares.

I am a first generation Mexican American graduate. I want to be a teacher because I want to inspire and motivate many future first generation students who were in my same shoes many years ago. I wanted to defy the odds and not only be the first graduate in my family but become the first woman science educator.
Yo soy un MexicoAmericano estudiante universitario de primera generacion. Quiero ser una maestra para inspirar y motivar a futuro estudiantes de primera generacion, que aun estan en los mismos zapatos que yo estuve hace muchos anos atras. Queria desafiar las probabilidades y no solo ser la primera graduada de mi familia, si no tambien convertirme en la primera mujer educadora de ciencias en mi familia.
