A Thematic Unit
Below is a thematic unit I created for two weeks worth of lessons for my classroom

Climate Change due to Human Interaction
Climate change is big problem in today’s society and as humanity continues to grow, it holds a stronger relevance to how we obtain our natural resources for everyday life.
Rationale
Through this thematic unit on climate change and global warming, students will gain an understanding of the importance of the environment and their direct influence. Students will be able to reflect on their own lives and see how they directly can affect or attribute to the environment’s change. Students will compare global patterns and their direct relationship with food production, health, atmospheric pressures/gases, etc. Both positive and negative messages can be identified and analyzed in the following lesson plans. Students will be able to reflect on their daily lives and be able to see activities that can change to help reduce climate change. Students will be able to compare and contrast with their peers about what they will change, what should change, and the outcomes of their actions. Finally, students will be able to make connections between different environments and realize that everything is linked together. This thematic unit will increase student’s abilities of awareness to comprehend new ways of to save the environment and will open their eyes to an interesting topic that is of importance in today’s society.
Guiding Questions
1. How has human interaction affected the climate?
2. How does the rise in temperature affect the planet?
